Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota ® (BBB) is issuing its annual call for nominations for the premier awards in business ethics, BBB’s Torch Awards for Ethics. Once again, for the 18th year, these awards will recognize outstanding companies in Minnesota and North Dakota which lead by way of example through the display of exemplary ethics in their dealings with customers, employees, vendors and within their communities.
Nominees for the Torch Awards must be in good standing with BBB; however BBB Accreditation is not a requirement to compete for the award. All for-profit businesses of any size, owned or operated in Minnesota or North Dakota, are eligible. This year’s BBB Torch Awards for Ethics nomination deadline is Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
A panel of independent judges will decide the award finalists and recipients. Winners will be announced live at BBB’s 2017-18 Torch Awards for Ethics ceremony on Wednesday, October 25, which will be held in the Hyundai Club at U.S. Bank Stadium. This year’s event will start at 2:30 p.m.
Maureen Bausch, Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee CEO, will be the keynote speaker at the event. Maureen has extensive experience creating and building brand awareness while marketing Minnesota to the world. Prior to joining the Super Bowl Host Committee, she worked as an executive for the Mall of America, starting in public relations in 1990 and moving up to Executive Vice President of Business Development. She was instrumental in building the mall into a national retail destination over the past 25 years. Her extensive experience managing large-scale events, marketing and sales, media relations and guest services earned her a spot-on Advertising Age’s Top 100 Marketers list.
“These awards mean as much to us as the businesses we award them to each year,” said Susan Adams Loyd, President and CEO of Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota. “It’s a privilege to be able to bestow them on those companies that shine brightest in our constellation of local, trustworthy businesses.”
